A practical account-opening plan
This consultation is for newcomers who need a German current account for salary, rent and direct debits. We compare the documents different account types commonly request, the role of Anmeldung, and what to ask about identity verification.
You will leave with a shortlist framework based on branch access, cash deposits, English-language support, fees and international transfers. We do not recommend securities, arrange credit or receive commission from banks.
